Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account data. Your mobile phone number (used to log in via one-time SMS code), and optionally a display name and email address.
• Group-chat content. When the VoyageVault number is added to a group chat, the messages, media (photos, videos, audio, files), links, and location data (including photo GPS and shared map pins) shared in that chat, so we can archive and organize them for the group.
• Payment data. If you buy Pro, Lifetime, or start a group, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details. We do not store full card numbers.
• Usage & device data. First-party analytics about how the site and dashboard are used (pages viewed, actions, approximate referrer), and standard server logs. We use our own logging, not third-party advertising trackers.
• Support communications. Anything you send us by email.

2. How we use information

• To provide the Service — archive and organize your trip, power search and AI-generated answers, build your recap, and show your map.
• To authenticate you (send login codes) and secure your account.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To send service and transactional messages (login codes, receipts, account notices).
• To operate, maintain, debug, and improve the Service, and to prevent abuse.
• To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

3. SMS/MMS text messaging, consent & opt-out

VoyageVault sends text messages only to numbers that have opted in — by adding the VoyageVault number to their own group chat, by submitting a phone number through our sign-up with consent, and/or by texting START. Messages are primarily service/transactional (login codes, confirmations, and archive notifications for your group).

Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages, and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No sharing of mobile / SMS opt-in data for marketing. No mobile information — including your phone number and SMS/text-messaging opt-in or consent — will be shared with, sold to, or rented to any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties except the subprocessors strictly necessary to deliver the messaging service (see Section 4).

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers (“subprocessors”) that operate the Service on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it:

• Twilio — delivery of SMS/MMS messages to and from carriers.
• Apple / BlueBubbles bridge — for iMessage groups, message delivery via iMessage.
• Anthropic — to generate answers to your questions about your trip (relevant excerpts are sent to the model to compose a response).
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Hosting/infrastructure — our cloud host (Fly.io) stores the database and media on our behalf.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (in which case this Policy continues to apply). We do not disclose your data to third parties for their own marketing.

5. Data retention

We keep your trip archive for as long as your account/group is active so your memories stay available (that's the point of the product). You can ask us to delete a trip, or your account and all associated data, by emailing founder@voyagevault.io or using the delete controls in the dashboard. We may retain limited records as required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” (we do neither), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights (CCPA/CPRA), and rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (GDPR/UK GDPR). To exercise any right, email founder@voyagevault.io; we will verify and respond as required by law. You may also opt out of texts anytime by replying STOP.

7. Group chats & participants

When someone adds the VoyageVault number to a group chat, the person who added it directs us to archive that chat and is responsible for having the participants' consent (see our Terms). If you are a participant in a group and want your content removed, contact the group's organizer or email us at founder@voyagevault.io and we will work in good faith to address your request. Reply STOP in the chat to stop receiving messages.

8. Security

Trip archives are private to your group and reachable only by phone-verified login. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate in the United States, and your information is processed there. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where required. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
